Internet Dating Privacy 11/03/2008
I recently heard about an internet dating site that does a security check and more or less the equivalent of a Police check to ensure that you are not a criminal. I wasn't surprised that such a thing existed but it all sounded too strange for me, so I decided to check it out myself. Yup, sure enough you give them your details and it will spit out all sorts of details but not just if you have a criminal record. How about your personal information like where you live, the credit cards you hold, how many you have and how much debt you carry, the car you drive, your insurance provider...the list goes on and quite frankly it's creepy. Folks, if you are nervous about being caught in an internet dating scam and you think this is the answer, well, I think it's a sad mistake. You should not have to divulge all of your personal information in order to find a mate. You should not have to sacrifice your privacy and be treated like a criminal or a bankrupt, only to be given a stamp of approval by a group of people (I believe from the info on the site that they are lawyers),that you are not a creep. Halloween Date 10/31/2008
Nothing could be more fun. Make a date with your internet dating sweetheart for a Halloween Date. It doesn't have to be fancy, just fun and creative. Send him or her a note that you want to set aside date night for Halloween night and you will be ready to pick them up. Send the invitation on Halloween card stock or anything you can find to spruce up your email. It's always a nice gesture when someone takes the time to do something special just for you even if it is something as simple as a Halloween Date invitation. Then, let your creativity take over. An internet dating service would welcome your fun and creativity by posting your well wishes on their blogs or forums. If you are on a free internet dating site, all the better, so go ahead and blog and post as much as you like. It's nice to keep the festivities going, it helps to make a better day. Making The First Move 10/30/2008
It was always so unnerving waiting for the boy in grade school to ask you to dance at your first school dance. The waiting seemed endless! Then, in high school waiting for someone to ask you to the Prom, or at least the guy you wanted to ask you to the Prom! Then, your first love and waiting for him to ask you to marry him. Alot of waiting isn't it? Profiles...When Should You Call It Quits? 10/29/2008
Some people would say that once you have found your mate through an internet dating site and are happy as can be, that you should delete your profile and accounts from the various internet dating sites that you are registered with. Although, it seems logical, I don't think its prudent. Building a Better Profile 10/28/2008
There are a few key ingredients to writing a good profile on any internet dating site. A good internet dating service will give you lots of room to express yourself and your creativity. It's imperative that you complete your profile IN FULL. Don't take short cuts by abbreviating words or using poor grammar. Use spell check before you post your profile and let it do the work for you. Finding Intimacy with Internet Dating 10/24/2008
The key to any successful intimate relationship on any internet dating site, is to be as open and honest as you can about yourself. We tend to hold back a lot because there are a lot of people out there who are not right for us so we don't want to give the wrong impression. However, you are making a bad impression by not responding at all to any form of correspondence you might receive from someone you met through internet dating. Take the time to respond to an email. If you suspect it's a scammer...then by no means don't give it another thought. However, try to remember that there are MILLIONS of real people out there, so take the time to respond in kind. That way, you are learning how and increasing your chances of one day creating an a real and intimate relationship with someone real soon. Where to find 'The One' on the Internet 10/23/2008
It's funny how meeting your potential partner on the internet can really happen anywhere. It doesn't have to be on an internet dating site at all, but can happen in the most unexpected places. Take for example, eBay or any forum that you post a comment on; to an article that you enjoyed and added your opinion. The list can really go on forever. Free internet dating can afford you the luxury of finding someone without having to pay for it like other sites, but finding that special someone can also happen for free on any other site on the internet. |
