Some people would say that once you have found your mate through an internet dating site and are happy as can be, that you should delete your profile and accounts from the various internet dating sites that you are registered with.  Although, it seems logical, I don't think its prudent.

For one thing, you don't know if this is going to be THE long term relationship that you were waiting for.  You need to give a relationship the test of time before you can honestly say that it is.

Let's face it, there were plenty of times that we have all felt that this was 'the one' only to be disappointed that it was not. 

I believe at the very least you leave your profiles active on the free internet dating sites and cancel the ones where you are charged a fee for their services.  No point in paying for a service that you no longer need or use.

That way, all is not lost.  If it doesn't work out, not to worry, just get back on that horse and start out again.  You don't have to feel so overwhelmed at the thought of starting out on the internet dating game again when you already have active accounts just waiting there for you to be used.

 
 

There are a few key ingredients to writing a good profile on any internet dating site.  A good internet dating service will give you lots of room to express yourself and your creativity. It's imperative that you complete your profile IN FULL.  Don't take short cuts by abbreviating words or using poor grammar.  Use spell check before you post your profile and let it do the work for you. 

Write your profile as if you are speaking to someone right in front of you because when someone is reading it, you want them to feel that you are talking directly to them.  This helps to engage someone and increases your chances of them contacting you.

The key to any successful intimate relationship on any internet dating site, is to be as open and honest as you can about yourself.  We tend to hold back a lot because there are a lot of people out there who are not right for us so we don't want to give the wrong impression.  However, you are making a bad impression by not responding at all to any form of correspondence you might receive from someone you met through internet dating. Take the time to respond to an email.  If you suspect it's a scammer...then by no means don't give it another thought.  However, try to remember that there are MILLIONS of real people out there, so take the time to respond in kind.  That way, you are learning how and increasing your chances of one day creating an a real and intimate relationship with someone real soon.

 
 

It's funny how meeting your potential partner on the internet can really happen anywhere.  It doesn't have to be on an internet dating site at all, but can happen in the most unexpected places.  Take for example, eBay or any forum that you post a comment on; to an article that you enjoyed and added your opinion.  The list can really go on forever. Free internet dating can afford you the luxury of finding someone without having to pay for it like other sites, but finding that special someone can also happen for free on any other site on the internet. 

The fact of the matter is, it all comes down to being in the right place at the right time and of course communication.  If you don't comment, how will someone notice you or even know you exist?
